What Clients Say About
Susan Stroh

May, 2008

Susan Stroh helped me complete my screenplay American Spirit in record time. Her dedication and collaboration helped me push through to get the final product--a very marketable screenplay. I am honored to have her on my team and will enjoy working with her on the other screenplays I'm currently developing. I couldn't have done it without her care, support and shoulder (Plus, I wouldn't want to!).

Do you think Muses don’t exist anymore? Think again.

Without Susan Stroh as my coach, editor and muse, I would have gotten discouraged and fallen into the old habit of doubting myself.

But with Susan’s contagious enthusiasm, skilled listening and light-as-a feather comments and questions, I'm writing with greater confidence and speed and getting more and more excited seeing the project grow and take shape.

Susan respects authors and doesn’t try to change what you want to say. She gets what you want to say and helps you say it.

She keeps you creating and that is invaluable. Susan brings out the best in me and for that I’m eternally grateful.

What she does has a magical quality to it. You can’t quite put your finger on what it is. But then, you can’t quite put your finger on why a muse is a muse, can you?

To Whom It May Concern,

I’d like to pass on my experience of having worked with Susan Stroh; writer, editor and director on several big projects we collaborated on to commemorate Adolf Schoepe, my father and founder of Fluidmaster, Inc. in our 50th anniversary year.

Susan found the heart-beat of our company and with skill and creativity, crafted it into a book, audio book and film. Her admiration for my father infused all these projects with warmth and clarity, reflecting my father’s personality and approach to life and work.

All of these projects, including the copy she wrote for the Adolf Schoepe museum—have enhanced our culture; increasing morale and productivity.

From the moment she presented a sample chapter about my father’s past, to her book signings on the occasion of our 50th anniversary, Susan demonstrated creativity, understanding, team leadership and poise in the corporate setting. She is not only talented and professional, but unstoppable in her persistence for completing projects on a deadline. I’d been trying to get this book done for years. Susan wrapped it up in months.

Susan and her team brought enthusiasm and the highest quality work to the interviewing, writing, photography, typesetting, proofreading, cover design, the audio book version on CDs attached to the inside back cover, printing elements and to the overall presentation of my father’s life and contributions.

When she directed the film, she managed to get me feeling comfortable in front of the camera—a feat I thought no one could pull off—and the result is an inspiring DVD used for employee orientation and in the museum.

Without reservation, I recommend Susan as a writer/editor, filmmaker and all around collaborative professional.

Sincerely,

Robert Anderson Schoepe
President and Chief Executive Officer, Fluidmaster, Inc.

Dear Susan,

I just want to tell you how much I appreciate your insightful probing, your guidance and your persistence in keeping orderly progress towards the completion of our book, "Dance with Gravity!"

With my busy practice, family obligations and ongoing education in my field, I have only been able to give you a few hours of my time per week. But in those few hours I have seen us structure and write a book that with your help I believe could and will be a best seller!

I just wanted to encourage you to continue to do what you do for me on my next books and for your other clients.

After speaking with Susan on a phone consultation, I found myself revitalized as a writer and artist. My writing statistics definitely went up!

I put several poems on Poetry.com and one was even selected for the semi-finals of the poetry contest.

I began working again on my book, which had gathered dust for several months. I wrote an article for a magazine that had been requested months earlier, but gone unwritten. I purchased some books so I could get better trained as a writer.

One of the things I like about working with Susan is that she is very flexible and willing to tailor a plan to the individual based on what is needed and wanted at that particular time. This is very helpful, for things can change.

Thank you, Susan, for helping me get started, and for keeping me going!

Dear Susan,

I never would have gotten my raise if you hadn't helped me write that letter to my boss. He granted me an $8000/year raise within five minutes of reading the letter.

You worked quickly and got me a powerful letter. That was the best $75 investment I've made in a long time!

Love,

GP

A graceful writer is more than just someone who can create powerful stories. She's the one who checks her ego when the story's done and lets others help her polish her work. Susan Stroh is among the most graceful I've come across.

Dear Susie,

I am writing to thank you for all the work you have been doing in getting the presentation ready for the Editor-in-Chief at Simon and Schuster. You are a PRO!

As you know I was editor-in-chief of a national award-winning magazine, and have had seven books published. I have worked with many editors--but I must say, you are easily the equal of the very best with whom I have worked.

I appreciate that you work very hard to ensure you fully understand the writer's point of view and duplicate what he or she intends. Your editing reflects that commitment to and understanding of the writer. You deliver abundantly, going beyond even my expectations (which are always very high.)

The survey you created and implemented, along with your collation of the results, and your final evaluation and recommendations all had the touch of a true professional.

It is always fun to be associated with a true artist, and I am having lots of fun associating with you.

Sincerely,

Bernard Percy

To Whom it May Concern:

It has been a delight working with Susan Stroh. I called her asking for help with my book. I am writing about how my career as a fire fighter shaped my life today and how it contributes to my success as a trainer and speaker. I wanted to share this with the rest of the world so others may have some successes through my experiences.

We went on a writer's retreat to structure my book, to do final editing on some of the chapters and to plan the rest of the book proposal. It was a process during which Susan was able to bring out the real flavor of my life and show me how to get it onto a page so that the reader would get the full benefit of my experience.

In so doing, Susan gained my full trust and respect as an artist and my increased confidence in the success of my book. In addition, Susan's ability to see both what I want to say and what the reader needs to hear made the flow of my writing so easy that I can't wait to start another book just so I can have the pleasure of working with her again.

My utmost respect and admiration to Susan Stroh.

Warmest regards,

W.S.W.

To Whom It May Concern:

Susan Stroh's writing captures readers with innovative ideas that are uniquely expressed. Her poems, short stories and screenplays invite transformation of mind and spirit.

As a book coach and editor she has the ability to work with writers and help them discover their purpose and the essence of their material. Then with a palette of talent, originality and wisdom, she creates.

Susan is known for utilizing her skill, heart and soul on each project. I have worked with Susan on various projects and have found her to be prolific and proficient.

Recently she helped me write a proposal for two six-hour lectures for the California Society of Pediatric Dentists. Her fine-tuning on my proposal gave me the competitive edge to land these speaking jobs.

I highly recommend Susan Stroh as a writer, book coach, and editor and as a delightful human being who will extract and uncover the very best from any material.

Susan Stroh was a reader* for my book, Making a Good Writer Great: A Creativity Workbook for Screenwriters. I can say without reservation that Susan has been the best reader I've worked with over the last ten years. Her feedback was invaluable and many times led me to new approaches to a chapter. She was totally committed to my success, detailed and nurturing in her suggestions. I do not know how I could have done this book without Susan's help.

Susan Stroh helped me to write a very important biography that would qualify me for a prestigious teaching award. Susan made the process so enjoyable, interviewing me to come up with concepts-- ideas which added warmth and emotional impact to my story... As a result I won the award, and was honored with admiration, appreciation and a hefty monetary prize.

To Whom it May Concern,

We hired Susan Stroh to edit and write two workbooks for teachers and students that would be part of our literacy curriculum in a youth offender prison. Susan proved to be a cooperative, creative and innovative collaborator, easy to work with, always cheerful and willing to work with changes that are inevitable in a pilot.

The quality of her writing and her insight into people are two of her major strengths. Her support of the group was unwavering. We look forward to working with her again, as her contributions both as a person and writer are considerable.

At this time we would like to recommend her for writing, development, editing and research work--both in non-fiction and fiction genres.

Sincerely,
